Established as an R&D company, Medichem has presented its developed hydrophilic coating solutions to its customers. In addition, project studies continue in line with both new products for the medical sector and customer demands from different sectors.

Hydrogels: The development of PVP-based, biocompatible hydrogels with high mechanical properties, which can be used in different fields, especially in medical applications, is at the last stage and will soon be added to the product portfolio and offered to customers.
Shape Memory PU: Shape memory polymers are smart polymers that are deformed (temporarily deformed) in the presence of an external stimulus (trigger) such as temperature, pH, chemical substance, light, electricity, and have the ability to return to their former shape. There are various applications of shape memory polymers such as bladder, cardiovascular stent, vascular, and surgical suture. PU's have been used in medical applications for the production of devices that can remain in the body for a short or long time.
Biodegradable materials:  Biodegradable polymers have gained great importance with the discovery of their adaptability to the biomedical field, such as tissue engineering and drug delivery systems. Physical properties, hydrolytic degradation profiles and biological compatibility have made some biodegradable polymers incomparably important among biomedical products. Biomaterials have developed over the past fifty years and now have a market of $ 100 billion. In recent years, biomaterials have attracted attention in many areas such as medical devices, tissue engineering applications, drug release systems. When the studies are examined, it is seen that biodegradable polymers are involved in various medical applications such as drug release, sewing thread (thread used for wound closure), tissue engineering applications due to their mechanical strength, biodegradation and biocompatibility properties. In line with this information, Medichem continues to work on the development of materials with high mechanical properties, biocompatible, especially for implants, with Magnesium and PLA and its derivatives. Spin Finish Oil:  Spin finish oils are used as process aid in different processes such as fiber drawing and spinning in the textile industry. Friction and static loads occur between the fibers and metal during the processes that take place at high speeds. The primary purpose of spin finish oils is to provide antistatic and lubricating properties to the fibers, facilitating the process, increasing the cohesion effect between the fibers and improving the wetting properties of the fibers for different end use applications. Generally, a spin finish blend consists of surfactant, cohesive agent, lubricant, antistatic agent, wetting agent and emulsifiers. These mixtures, which depend on very sensitive process parameters, stand out among the textile raw materials used in different sectors in today’s technology.
